Dartmouth

Hey
Just wondering if anyone is interested in Dartmouth?
I might just drive down to race it.

Yeah, I’ll be going.
Could we start a tentative head count of people planning on attending?

Lorri, Petey and I want to come for this one.

I’m counting on coming, but i have a 2pm exam on that friday, so i wouldn’t be able to peace until 5 at the absolute earliest.

I will come!
is there a race flyer?.. I would like to see the course

I think the race course is the same as last year:
http://collegiatecycling.org/eccc/wiki/uploads/Calendar/20100424-dartmouth-easterns.pdf

Count me in.

This is, in my opinion the best race of the season, course wise.

I’ve added a sign up.
Dartmouth falls the same week-end as Ste-Martine (first Quebec race), but for having done this race last year and having raced a couple of “Quebec’s first”, I would highly recommend doing Dartmouth.

  1. because the course is fantastic and not that far (around 3h)
  2. because the first race of the year is usually the sketchiest!

I second Mat’s point.
I was home this weekend and raced the first Ontario race of the year. They ended up with at least 5 guys in the hospital - sketch city

Count me in for Dartmouth

So I live about an hour away from Hanover. A few people who have later start times can stay at my place with me (6-8 people), but I don’t really want to split up the group between two towns if it gets to be a hassle.
Also, depending on when people can leave (and hours of operation) in Newport, Vermont, just over the border from Magog area, there is a Louis-Garneau outlet store. I’ve found bibs and jerseys for >$10

Shopping anyone?

I second Veronica’s comment about the Louis Garneau outlet. Always worth a visit. My house is about 45 minutes from Hanover, but I don’t know that it will be available, since probably won’t be coming to this race. (Got some serious networking to do at another movie premiere April 24th. )
I will ask the parents about a possible MCT resting space.

i’ll be there.

I already okay-ed it with the parents to have up to 8 people stay (plus myself). More certainly could, but 8 would be guaranteed a bed or couch.
Necessary that you don’t have allergies.

Everyone sure that they will be doing Dartmouth, could you email me (veronica.wheeler@mail.mcgill.ca) the usual info:
Race category
Car?
Drive?
Time you can leave that Friday (23rd)

Wow, I might have to reconsider my attendance, since now it seems there is a USAC race for me.

this makes it sound pretty good:

Bottom Line: Ride bikes fast at Easterns. Get the knowledge. Race a
skateboard in a speedo! (ok, hopefully not) Have a place to stay.
Get swag.

Although a few weeks off, Easterns @ Dartmouth is shaping up to be
bigger, badder and more faster and more furious(er) than ever.

  1. Flyer. It’s been here: http://collegiatecycling.org/eccc/wiki/index.php?n=Calendar.Current
Saturday: Hanover Team Time Trial and Frat Row Criterium
    Sunday: Academy Hill Road Race

  2. Registration
    a. Bikereg: http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=10545
    b. Blue pill: I will take team spreadsheets until 11:59pm Thursday
22 April 2010. [spreadsheet format attached - please carefully follow
    instructions]

  3. Road course improvements
A majority of the road course has been repaved to include Union
Village Road and the final climb on Academy Road. Just like last
year, expect to pass through 2 covered bridges and see countless
breathtaking views in the land of covered bridges and maple syrup
while your eyes pop out on the climbs.

  4. USA Cycling Races and Kids & Open Races
    a. We are offering USA Cycling Open individual and team time trials
on Saturday morning. Sunday’s road race will include women’s 3/4,
    men’s 3/4, men’s 5 and master’s 45+ fields. The USA Cycling
individual time trial is $15 and all other USA Cycling races are $20.
Spread the word: tell your alumni, drag your friends out; hell have
    your dad race!
    b. Kids and Open races. There will be a kids race on the course at
or about noon. An open race will start at or about 4:00pm running the
final straightaway. Rules are direct drive transmission only and
outer garment must be one single piece and acceptable in public.
There’s alot of room for “interpretation” as to what qualifies, but
examples include: tricycle and a skinsuit, unicycle and a leotard, or
    skateboard and a dress.

  5. Host housing. Our local cycling community is very supportive and
has offered up accommodations for over 50 racers. We’ve made our list
and are now checking it twice. We’ll be able to start filling slots
    next week.

  6. Swag.
    a. Bottles: We’ll be giving away L’Enfer du Nord water bottles to the
    FIRST 300 Bikereg/Spreadsheet REGISTRANTS.
    b. We’ve teamed up with Internet blogging celebrity sensation Cosmo
    Catalano (D’ 04, cyclocosm.com) to design our t-shirt for this year’s
race, based upon his periodic table of professional cycling
infographic. They’ll go on sale through bikereg.com shortly and be on
hand at the event. [design attached - likely to be a slightly more
fashionable green with the ECCC Championship on back].

Please feel free to contact me as below with questions.

The weather forecast for the weekend couldn’t be better.

Saturday: Times of sun and clouds. Highs in the upper 50s and lows in
the low 40s.
Sunday: A few clouds. Highs in the mid 60s and lows in the mid 40s.

We’ve got a great weekend of racing planned ahead.

I’ve found bibs and jerseys for >$10

Aren’t most bibs and jerseys greater than $10?

And this is why we must stop here Pete
The production center is in the building adjacent to the outlet. A lot of the gear is overstock, some custom pieces there were over-ordered, and then here and there sub-standard items on mad discount. Also off-season gear (which is why going in winter is the best, theoretically).
Also, ben, now that you’ve ‘changed your mind,’ what does that mean for the trip?

i guess she’s better in latin than logic :stuck_out_tongue:

so i was looking at the race flyer… is dartmouth a team time trial?
