To all of you who have artistic talent, give McGill Cycling another reason to be the most fashionable team on the circuit:
Folks,
It’s pretty clear that you can’t hang out in the ECCC unless you’re
extremely fashion forward. For those less well equipped to succeed in
that aspect, the proper and imminently acceptable fall back default
is, of course, ECCC t-shirts. This year, we’re opening the 2010 Road
tee design up to competition. For all the design oriented people out
there, this is your chance to define conference style for the year!
[ What ]
Submit your own design for the spring 2010 conference t-shirt!
The front of the shirt will be the standard ECCC logo—big, bold,
beautiful. The back is up to you! The design must fit in and well
utilize roughly an 8.5x11 area (portrait orientation). The shirts
will be printed in white on colored fabric, so you must use only one
color (use black in your drawing).
The shirts can actually be printed with a fair amount of detail,
almost as much as a low-end home printer, but obviously most of it
should be readable at a reasonable distance.
The design must include the ECCC logo, though it can be small and can
be just the acronym (not the top and bottom text lines). An AI file
for the logo and a map of the conference are available at [1].
Obviously, designs have to be G rated, friendly, and positive…
Designers must hold and release to the conference the copyright for
all elements in the design.
Designs must be submitted as AI, PDF, or EPS drawings. Generally they
should not include raster elements unless it’s really done well (no
copying bitmaps off websites, including the ECCC logo).
[ When ]
Designs must be submitted by the end of Sunday, March 21st (Phlyer
weekend). Email them to Joe Kopena jkopena@usacycling.org.
[ Who ]
Designs will be screened for technical considerations. The remainder
will be put to the ladies on the eccc-women listserv (open to all ECCC
women) [2], who will pick their favorite three. Joe, Caitlin, and
Sully will then pick the winner from those.
[ Why ]
The winning designer will get four free t-shirts in their choice of
sizes and colors.
[ Oh My Goodness, I Just Want to Order Some! ]
As usual we won’t be taking advance orders on the shirts, but hope to
have them available for sale by Yale.
If there are any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
Thx!
