I know that we Have alot of new members. I was wondering If some of them wanted a ride that would teach them the basics of the paceline. among other things…
I would definitely be interested. Would be a good way to get familiar with the club to.
I haven’t paid for anything yet so that would be something I would have to get done
Same here. Super shy to just show up at one ride since I don’t know if I can even be qualified as beginner pace !!
If this is 9-5er friendly, I’d love to come along and share some of my Grumpy Ol’ Wisdom
- Grumpy Ol’ John
I was thinking of doing a regular beginner ride on Mondays, to coincide with my recovery day. Just unsure about time - would 7:00AM or 5:30PM be better attended?
next week I’d say 7am for myself. For the rest of the season, I’ll be pretty unstable since I’m on call all summer, and I won’t know my schedule in advance. I guess the 5:30 will be easier to make most of the time.
for the regular ride on Mondays, both hours work for me.
By curiosity because I am not totally sure about the definitions, how would you define beginner?
hairy legs
haha :P, well then I know where I’m at …
THis would have to be a 9-5 ride. I.e in the evening… I’m a grumpy old man… the pace would be nice and easy
Last fall we defined the Beginner ride as never going faster than 30kph. With that one statement we were able to keep the whole group together, talk and have a great ride.
I don’t have a spedo
Stephen, a good rule of thumb: if people can’t hold your wheel, probably you’re going too fast for the group.
marika, are you a mountain biker? regular mountain bike rides are starting up for the summer, you should come with us!
What does a 9-5 ride mean sorry I am not familiar with all the vocabulary.
And when would it be ?
Thank you very much
O and thank you Adam for the clarification
9-5 means Stephen and I both work 9-5 is all.
Ben_Adler: I’m a 100% mountain biker !! Road just keeps me in shape. Can’t wait to go hit some trails. Still waiting for my bike to come back from bikeshop for its tune-up :/. Where do you go ride in mtb in Montreal though ?
Ok ok I see so it would be after five, but then on what day?
Sorry for all the questions
I can’t do 5:30 rides, I wouldn’t mind leading the 7:00am ones over the summer though.
