KOM #8 Costume Competition

Trevor had a pretty sweet costume. Didn’t even realize he was there! I bet he beat us on every climb too. Also that was a pretty fun ride. Awesome costumes everyone! Definitely a good reason to wake up and climb hills in the morning

Watch out for the soon to be released bumblebee skinsuit. So aero.

Oh…I thought you were wearing a skin suit Phil :frowning:

I was so depressed about Ryder doping that I couldn’t get out of bed :frowning:

I know we didn’t keep official score this morning, but I would have to estimate that Pavel slid onto the podium in the 3rd week of the Tour to overtake JR and Eric. Thanks for the fun series guys!

Haha, the advanced spreadsheet doesn’t seem to be updated since KOM #5. But, if I count well, then I should have 16 pts today (3rd Houde, 1st RW, 3rd ORA, 4th Poly, 3rd CNS), not counting the Cemetery where we somehow lost a part of the peloton.

And YESSS, that would mean I am 3rd overall  !

Sorry for all the bragging, but it’s the first time for me…

Thanks for all these great mornings.

YES! The KOM was in fact won on the hills, and lost in bed (or in Mat BR’s case, in Italy).
#TeamPavel

Congrats Pavel! I have to say that this was a strong dedicated group we were competing against. I’m sorry I couldn’t make it. You guys need to get some cross bikes so we can keep doing this comes snow!

All updated, week #8 was vaguely updated, because most positions were pretty much decided.

James 168
Robert 116
Pavel 77
JR 65
Richard 46

Top 5 Int KOM:
Mike 158
Yan 88

Last but not least, the heavily contested QOB:

  4. Eric 5
  5. Phil 4

Was a tons of fun this year, until next year! …or Spring???

in hindsight, telling James about the KOM was a badddd idea.
Thanks for updating Mike, until next year!

Rob, you need to post the awards for costumes.

Where are the results for the costume competition? e.i. the only competitive competition I remember taking part in Thursday morning

Look at those competitive exec results for QOB!

Another successful KOM season!
I hate to be “that guy”, but what would the top five for advanced look like for actual McGill students? #gradschoolforlife

  1. Pete, forever and always
  2. No one else

Though I go to McGill, I won’t contest those results as they look perfect to me. Pattern Pete FTW (fine… or Sneaky Pete)

I don’t know everybody’s name exactly, but based on the formula I derived with willthespill, a KOM costume is only as good as the number/magnitude of its malfunctions, multiplied by how hindering it is to your riding ability, all divided by aerodynamics.

Therefore, though I (very unfortunately) don’t know his name, the guy with the airplane wings that flew off at the bottom of remembrance wins it for me based on the formula. With Phil getting 2nd due to the outstanding draft his bumble-bee suit offered. Mike gets 3rd by the frustration his costume caused by the fact that he ripped it off and tossed it in the first garbage we came across.

Honorable mentions go out to:
Dotted Dom for “least stealth” – as any attack was marked by the ringing of a cow bell.
willthespill for “most stealth” – as he went off the front and then out the back on every climb, while nobody could see his aero black setup and killer tri-spoke
Neal Weiss for “most realistic” – I dressed up as Mario from Mario cart and he dressed up as Luigi who had just picked up a ghost power and hit the Zzzz button as soon as he got it. I think he executed perfectly.
MatBR for “least realistic” – I don’t think his attempt at Mugatu from Zoolander was very well succeeded…

Did I miss anything? Lets call these preliminary results that are up for open debate before the figurative trophies made out of bragging rights are given out.

Don’t forget Yann!
