Moving to Montreal Want to find a club

Hey McGill Cycling,

I will be moving to Montreal to work at Ubisoft from California and I am interested in joining your club. I am aiming to ride more in Montreal and also get better at my riding. Whats the best way for me to check out new routes and see if I can even keep up with you guys.

Dennis

Welcome to Montreal! The best way to connect with the club is to keep checking this forum for posted rides. Normally the road rides are announced with the pace listed as beginner, intermediate or advanced. Once the weather allows for outdoor cycling, you will see rides posted. As for routes, a few are posted under the forum topic - rides. Look forward to riding with you in the Spring. Charles

Very well said. In addition, if you are looking at improving your riding in the off season (I grew up in Long Beach and wore shorts all year long, but in Montreal we do have an off season) there are weekly Plyometrics classes on Wednesday in the gym and Spinning on Friday as indicated in the spinning and cross training section of the forum. Again, welcome to Montreal!
Adrien

Thanks for the information guys see you on the saddle.

Hey ahhdee. Welcome to montreal first of all…it’s exciting to see some new people wanting to join the pack. As mentioned above, this forum is the key to knowing what’s going on in terms of training, rides, etc, but you can always contact the exec’s (im one of them) at mcgillcycling@gmail.com.

To make it brief, you are eligible even if you’re not a student to join our SSMU (Students Society of McGill University) club and be able join us for rides, training, official races both in the States and in Quebec, as well as obtaining sponsorships of different types. If you want to know more, either PM me or send an email to that email address. Most of the execs are away this week at a spring training camp in S Carolina but we will definitely address any questions you may have.

See ya around

Rides will be starting as soon as the roads are clear. Keep an eye on the forum to find out when rides are going down.

Hi Mel. Our club has riders with different skill levels and so do the races we attend. Still keep an eye open for posts on the forum because that’s our main way of communicating. The club is great for people who either want to race or just be a recreational cyclist and for people of different levels within those two categories.

PM me or send us an email if you have any more questions (above email address).
