Oh yeeeeeeeeeah baby. Nice posting of the W neil. Also great work by the other MCT riders, many of whom popped their racing cherries this weekend.

I didn’t do the race on Sunday, but did the Pro1/2 race in the AM and the Men A race in the PM on Saturday. For both races i finished in the pack. really cold for both races

Description of the Grants Tomb crit course (for future generations who might be looking for beta on this race): Note, Youtube videos of 2011 race do not show the correct course.
Staging: occurs in front of the church next to turn 4.
Start/finish: located on Riverside Drive just west of General Grant National Memorial.
Turn 1: wide open 90 degree left, bad surfaces after the turn
Turn 2: wide 90 degree left, ok place to move up right after the turn. being at the front(ish) for turn 3 is ideal
Turn 3: Wide 90 degree left, super shitty surface with a bunch of grates/sewers right into a ~20m kicker hill of around 6%, take the inside line to keep your momentum.
Turn 4: 90 degree right, sewer on the inside. long windy false flat downhill right after the turn. Figure out the wind direction on the day and choose if inside/outside line optimal. Peloton gets super strung out after the turn but very easy to move up on the outside on the long straight before railing turn 5.
Turn 5: smooth hairpin turn, good surface & bank (take it fast!) Keep your speed and then stay inside line to avoid wind on the false flat to the finish. Peloton compresses here. Attacks tended to go just after the false flat.

Wicked fun course which should be attended if possible!

Hah thanks everyone.

Great summary by Scott, I attacked about 0.5KM too early on the false flat so that was a pretty miserable minute… Would have liked to see my Watts because it hurt.

My lungs are still hurting from the cold. Hopefully it will heat up in the next 2 weeks!
