Rollers/Trainer

I have a sweet set of rollers with resistance for sale.

150$. I live in the ghetto.

I’M LOOKING FOR A REALLY QUIET TRAINER FOR CHEAP.

I have a trainer and trainer tire if you want to try them out before you make a choice drew. I’m not sure how quiet it is though
PM if interested

~A quiet trainer is one that is never used~

If any of these offers are still alive PM me, i’m looking for either rollers or a trainer

I am selling a cycleops trainer with power cheap!

when you say cheap, you mean?

Gonna revive this thread, as I’m also in the market for rollers (with resistance).

PM me if you have something.

What??? Are you shaving your legs again???

THREAD REVIVAL.

I want to train more and beat MikeB on Blue Ridge next year. (Maybe)
I already have a Tacx Sirius. It’s noisy though, and my landlords live in the flat below mine…So I’m considering buying a new one.

Right now, I’d go for the Kinetic Road Machine ($379).

But people are telling me that rollers are good too…I don’t know what to do. Please help.

Buy rollers, they do so much more for you.

Cyclingtips has some, uh, tips on the topic:

Thanks for the link Pete!

Any tips on good rollers then?

I have cyclops with resistance that have served me well. The resistance is good enough to do any kind of workout except sharp acceleration type stuff. I do think rollers are a bit more interesting to ride than a trainer but I find it hard to come down to firmly on either side of the debate. Certainly, resistance is a must unless you only plan to do base miles on rollers.

That being said the cyclops are just about as loud as a jet engine though. So… avoid them I guess. Actually my experience has always been that rollers are louder than trainers. That kurt looks awesome.

I have the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine and would highly recommend it. It’s very quiet, and with an Ant+ USB stick you can use Zwift or TrainerRoad on your computer to simulate power and keep things interesting.

My experience has been opposite of Eric’s.
My Cycleops w/ resistance are nice and quite. I bought them new so maybe that could be why?

Rollers also improve your pedal stroke and balance/bike handling skills. The long term benefits of that outvalues the ability to train your sprints in the winter.

Plus with rollers, the set up is easier. Just put on old tires, and go!

Thanks people!

Andrew lent me his rollers to try out. I’ll see how it goes!
