Hey all,
I’m looking for people who will be attending this event… We could split gas costs and hotel room… I’d prefer not having to rent a car, but if we must, I was thinking of renting a minvan so we can fit 3-4 peeps and their bikes.
I’ll also be looking for a good lead-out man for the crit. I’m not going to go all the way to Beauce to ride at the back of the pack the whole weekend LOL. I WANT that crit. It’s MINE.
Anyway, let me know if you’re interested…
You should know that I don’t have a licence (which is a good thing, since I don’t know how to drive).
I’d like to do reservations ASAP.
I already took the Friday (Aug. 15th) off of work, so I’ll be able to leave whenever on Friday. The crit is at 5:30pm.
So… Nobody’s going? Eh? We should reserve the hotel soon, it’s in 2 and a half weeks…
hey norm,
i’m pretty sure i’ll be going, but i won’t be staying in a hotel… sorry! i think camping looks like a much cheaper option.
will keep you updated on how i’m getting there, and i’ll let you know if i can take you if you need a ride.
I checked out a couple hotels and this one in St-Joseph (20kms from Ste-Marie) has 55$ a night regular rooms. What’s cool is I have a laptop with craploads of cool stuff to watch at night, so the hotel would be sort of nice for that…
The camping lot listed on the race’s website is 27$ a night without services… 32$ with 2 services. Not sure what the services are. Showers?
Anyway, I think the comfort is worth the extra bucks. Especially if, like some other hotels, they rent out folding beds and we can cram a 3rd person.
Also, I have no camping gear
If camping is really the only option, why not!
Let me know.
well, nick’s idea is to go find a farm and knock on their door and speak the special farmer’s oath or something, and then they’ll let us pitch a tent in one of their fields. also, he says if they’re nice they’ll even invite in for diner. that way logement = free!!
also it would be like an adventure, and i think it would be fun. you’re welcome to join, and i can ask nick if he has two tents.
OK Cool, that sounds good. Let me know. If anybody’s up for sharing the hotel, though, I might opt out. I’ll look around.
