TPR = Tuesday Points Ride or Team Points Race… I haven’t decided yet.
This turned out really well last week, so I hope we can get everyone back out on the track trying to spring a teammate across the finish line first!
A reminder on how it works:
Depending on sign ups, I’ll post teams of 3-5 the night before the ride.
Meet at the hairpin turn at 6:45 (don’t be late!) Or meet me at the gates at 6:20.
Go over teams, and head out for one COMPLETE warm up lap of the track
During the warm up I’ll point out an intermediate sprint point
When we come around to the finish line we’ll begin.
Every two laps, we’ll regroup before starting again. A total of 6 laps will be covered.
End by 7:45, which gives everyone enough time to get back for 8:35 classes.
Points will be collected on two lap intervals, for 6 laps total:
1pt for the team that takes intermediate sprint on lap 1
3pts for the team that takes the finish line on lap 1
5pts for the final sprint at the end of lap 2
(NEW) 1pt for second place at the end of lap 2
A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES:
– There will be NO RESHUFFLING of teams if riders are absent. This way, there will be no confusion about who’s on your team if you read the issued teams the night before. A team may be at a disadvantage if several of its riders are absent, but that’s okay.
– Be ON TIME so everyone can start the ride together and talk to their teams during warm up.
– Try to sign up if you’re coming. Showing up unannounced (especially if you’re a strong rider) can throw off the balance of the teams.
– Stay on one side of the division signs: Let’s avoid having the entire group weave between these potentially dangerous signs in order to follow your wheel. We may end up riding through the pits in order to avoid this problem heading into the finish of each lap.
Remember that this is an Advanced ride with a fast pace where we don’t wait for dropped riders (until the end of the second lap), but everyone is welcome to give it a shot and see what they’re capable of! Future racers are strongly encouraged to participate.
Hope to see another great turnout!
Cheers,
Dennis
