Tpr #2 (09/20)

TPR = Tuesday Points Ride or Team Points Race… I haven’t decided yet.

This turned out really well last week, so I hope we can get everyone back out on the track trying to spring a teammate across the finish line first!

A reminder on how it works:

Depending on sign ups, I’ll post teams of 3-5 the night before the ride.
Meet at the hairpin turn at 6:45 (don’t be late!) Or meet me at the gates at 6:20.
Go over teams, and head out for one COMPLETE warm up lap of the track
During the warm up I’ll point out an intermediate sprint point
When we come around to the finish line we’ll begin.
Every two laps, we’ll regroup before starting again. A total of 6 laps will be covered.
End by 7:45, which gives everyone enough time to get back for 8:35 classes.

Points will be collected on two lap intervals, for 6 laps total:

1pt for the team that takes intermediate sprint on lap 1
3pts for the team that takes the finish line on lap 1
5pts for the final sprint at the end of lap 2
(NEW) 1pt for second place at the end of lap 2

A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES:

– There will be NO RESHUFFLING of teams if riders are absent. This way, there will be no confusion about who’s on your team if you read the issued teams the night before. A team may be at a disadvantage if several of its riders are absent, but that’s okay.

– Be ON TIME so everyone can start the ride together and talk to their teams during warm up.

– Try to sign up if you’re coming. Showing up unannounced (especially if you’re a strong rider) can throw off the balance of the teams.

– Stay on one side of the division signs: Let’s avoid having the entire group weave between these potentially dangerous signs in order to follow your wheel. We may end up riding through the pits in order to avoid this problem heading into the finish of each lap.

Remember that this is an Advanced ride with a fast pace where we don’t wait for dropped riders (until the end of the second lap), but everyone is welcome to give it a shot and see what they’re capable of! Future racers are strongly encouraged to participate.

Hope to see another great turnout!

Cheers,

Dennis

Hell yeah I’ll be there.

sorry guys but i more than likely won’t be able to make it

well, at least that’s one less skinsuit to worry about

I’ll be there if I can but I doubt it.

I just got back from my first ride with pedals that work properly. I am now super excited for next tuesday.

You’ll miss my draft

I cant wait to learn how to sprint

stephen, head down, legs spinning

mild grunting is permited as well

bumb for signups

lemme know if you’re coming so I can try and keep the teams equal

I’d love to come, but I have class at 8:35 and nowhere to leave my bike. Can anyone tell me where they leave theirs? Thank you

last bump for signups!
Do so in the next few hours as I’ll be posting teams this evening.

I’m a wimp, so if it is raining, I’ll be in bed.

ibid

I’ll be there rain or shine. It’ll be more fun in the rain.

Rain…ha! That means if it’s raining I’ll be sleeping…

Teams for tomorrow:

Dennis
Ruth
Julien
Phil Z

Justin
Goodfellow
Dustin
Pete W
Mike B

Nick Ammerlaan
sebastien
Ryan
Jocelyn

Eric Burge
Jeron
Stephen B
Ben Blake
squirrelbait

Ride goes rain of shine! I’ll be riding by the gates at 6:20 if anyone wants to tag along with me to the F1 track.

Should be another awesome ride! Make sure to review the rules above and memorize your team. Reminder: we won’t be doing any reshuffling, so having 100% attendance will give your team a competitive edge!

Hey Dennis,

Can you move someone from team#4 to team#3 and create an extra one for UdeM including ammerlaan and I ?

See you tomorrow

Dennis I think you should have alternate teams ready in case we are in smaller numbers. Especially given how three riders said they won’t make it if it rains and there is an 80% chance of rain.
