The team has to be careful about how much inventory it buys as it’s gotten us into trouble in the past. $600 in wool jerseys is too much, we might be able to take one or two but not six.
People always ask me about mine, and how to get one. I think with some good word of mouth + facebook marketing, we could sell a bunch to non-cycling team members. I trust the team exec to make the right call with respect to financials, though.
I kind of agree with pete, i think it would be an easy sell. And what if 6 of the jerseys didn’t say “cycling” on them but just “Mcgill”… think about it.
I’m really glad there is interest but we really can’t go forward with this without a solid 15 orders. Reaching out to non-McGill Cycling members isn’t our target, members of the club and our supporters should have the opportunity to get in on the cool things we’d liked to make available. We have people ordering kits from around the world, hundreds of people have seen this post. Ultimately it comes down to needing to reach the minimum. I don’t want the 11 people signed up to miss out because it’s a great piece of clothing that will last a long time and is worth the investment, so if you really want one talk to people about it, if you have friends or a parent who might want one find out because I really really want to make this happen!
last call for wool, feel really bad not doing this considering 10 people are interested!
I have inquired about the availability of the different sizes of jerseys, on their website it says they are sold out of mediums. The possibility of doing an order with less than 10 jerseys exists and will likely cost $20-30 more, likely approximately $100 per jersey but if they are and will remain sold out of medium jerseys then we likely will not go ahead with making an order.
