On September 7th there’s a fundraiser ride (100k) that it would be fun to get a group together for.

Robert’s on the planning committee for it and said he could put together a fundraising deal for our group based on how many people we had (the more the merrier!) so sign up now if you think you might be interested (non-binding, just trying to get a sense of numbers). More info later!
Hmm… I am taking advantage of the special needs programming at the YMHA, so it would be nice to give back.

A McGill Cycling presence at this event would be awesome. The event is looking for younger riders and we would love to have a group of red/white jerseys at the event. We would want to get a pair of MCT socks or a McGill jersey as giveaways, so it would be fun if there was a good sized group there to present it!
This could also be a huge opportunity for MCT as many of the people that ride in the event are corporate sponsors as well. Meaning that they are people who love cycling, and have money they are willing to put into supporting cycling events / clubs… So building connections with them could be HUGE for raising sponsorship for McGill Cycling.

When doing so, sign up as a first time rider but ignore the minimum fundraising requirement as you will have a separate deal since you are part of McGill cycling. Pete yes that’s ok. Make sure to mark McGill cycling as your organization name and it won’t matter either way.

Hey guys, there is a 5 a 7 tonight at the st ambroise brewery on the lachine canal. 2 free pints to all registered riders, plus door prizes to be won in a draw. there will be a couple food trucks for dinner as well. Please try to register today and come out tonight. Should be fun!

Alright everybody, so Robert has offered that if we get a good group of us, the fundraising minimum can be $100 instead of $250. I know so far that at least me, Pete, and Fabien have registered. If you have or are planning to, could you post so I can know? Thanks!

So what’s the plan for the event? Do the club have spare McGill Cycling shirts that we can borrow to all have matching colors?
I don’t think we have any spare ones accessible at the moment, but if you make a post asking to borrow something, I bet people have some that they’re willing to lend out!
