3hr Saturday Spins!

For those of you who were worried because there was no post this week, fear not! Saturday Spins will be happening once again this winter!!

I believe our time in the spin room is 12-3pm (I’ll double check this)

Afterwards Adam (my most loyal 3hr saturday spinner) and I usually follow up our epic spinning sessions with a quick heavy lifting session and some core.

All in all these workouts are the best way to get a long session done in the winter. When you get to chat with a handful of other people and admire yourself in the mirror, time passes quickly! Make these a regular weekly workout over the next several weeks and you’ll have built up a base bigger than the sphinx in time for long rides and South Carolina and more importantly the ECCC racing season!

Get ready for these starting next week. I’ll bring the tunes.

Also, combine these Saturday workouts with either a Friday or Sunday spin class and you’ve got a training block that will have you smashing your Houde PR come April.

Do ALL THREE sessions and you’ll be what has come to be known as a McGill Cycling Winter Training Stage Racer. These people are best known for racing a division higher than their peers expected once we get to the ECCC and crushing souls in the time trials. However all the spin bike time leave them perplexed at the concept of turning once it comes to the crits…

I’m in!
Starting up Friday spins next week. Let’s get excited

I will join you guys in spirit for my trainer at home

For saturday and friday spins, I’ll be bringing a wrench for pedals!

on occasion.

occasion = every damn time

Meh… I might actually make an appearance.

Probably not.

Who knows.

Yeah… I’m not coming.

You got my hopes up!

but not really

Maybe?

No, definitely not.

I will indeed be there.

Probably not neal, ride does not start at 6:30am as you love.

For stronger Houde crushing abilities, immediately follow up the 3 hr spin with an 8k run loop up and down said Houde.

Aka, I’ll come if you guys run with me after.

Also, Keith has to be there.

Don’t worry Keith, you don’t have to run, but only thanks to the osteoporosis in those old hips of yours.

For those who spin at home, I have found watching vids of races such as Paris-Roubaix 2013; Tour Of Flanders 2013 (Ronde van Vlaanderen 2013); Milan - San Remo 2013 help the time fly by.

For example there is an HD version of Paris-Roubaix 2013 running 3hr 40min all for free http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DF19yPkPa5Q

You can easily save the videos and watch without repeatedly consuming bandwidth.

There are others available, so no excuse not to spin for hours  You can even pretend you are hanging on to Cancellara’s wheel …

I’ll run with you Trevor

no running allowed

Squash?

weather looks good on saturday - let’s ride instead?

Hmmm… Keith has a point… I might have to take this chance to head outside and start up the indoor saturdays next week.

-1 to 0 degrees by noontime. Anyone else interested?

I pulled a muscle in my Neck and am probably going to miss this week. :frowning:

Go outside if its warm.
