I appreciate that he took the time to write a longer, more intelligent response to the accusations against him, but saying “the culture in the UK is different” is not very credible. It’s the same as the French saying “nowadays everyone dopes but our teams,” you just have to look at David Millar to see an example of British rehabilitation at work…

I think it’s true that he’s not used to be a leader, and he has been growing in the role of Maillot Jaune in the past few days. He’s also shown weakness 2 days ago on climbs, so accusations against him will slow down. But the performance of Sky as a whole, especially Froome, who doesn’t have the track or road cycling wins that Wiggins had before emerging, remain extremely suspicious. It doesn’t help that they hired a known doping doctor as a replacement for their team doctor because they “needed someone with a lot of experience in the sport.”
