Hey,

I am thinking about bike insurance.

I want one that covers accidental damage, theft, etc etc.

Any recommendations?

Hey there,

I have full bike coverage through RBC which is about $100 a year, although it is in combination with house and car insurance.

It doesn’t seem to come with any restrictions (ie not covered during competitive events - which some insurances have).

I know when I was living at my mother’s place the house insurance covered my bike for free (but with the not covered during competitive events) just by telling them the value of the bike in order for them to be aware of its existence. It depends on what you want to get, because I recall an article in VeloMag like a year (or two) ago making a rough study about bike insurance and they didn’t found anything very specific for bike (like car insurance for car), but you could always get something to insure it as a sport good under a house insurance or something. If you have any house/belongings insurance, you should call them and check with them if they can offer you something special for your bike.
