This is it - the official start of the 2013 KOM/QOM season. For those of you who are new to the team, KOM/QOM is a weekly competitive all-level ride featuring enough climbs to make you want to puke. Points are scored for the top five up each climb, and tracked over the next 8 weeks to crown a King and Queen of the Mountain. We split into 3 groups for this ride, so no matter what your level, this is a perfect ride for you.
A relevant point given the fun TPR ride this morning: KOM/QOM is absolutely 100% rain or shine. If it hails or rains fire, I might make an exception. You obviously don’t have to come ever; but if you have the dedication to show up in pissy MTL fall weather, you deserve to get some points.
We meet at the base of the Houde (i.e. right here). 6:30AM - don’t be late. We’ll probably wait until 6:32; definitely not until 6:35.
Because there wasn’t an Int group last week, I’ll take this opportunity to define groups:
[]Beg: New to cycling, getting used to riding, not the place for super-competitiveness
[]Int: Attitude wise as competitive as Adv; just not as quick

Adv: Made of helium.
If you are always either the first or the last in your group, consider switching it up the week after. The women can ride with whatever group is most appropriate, so long as you all ride together (otherwise how would we score!)
Super excited for this week, hope the weather is good!
If the weather’s good I’ll sacrifice points and bring my camera. In which case every one who has a MCT kit should wear it. If the weather’s not good, I’ll race. I’ll update tomorrow night after looking at the weather.
