An MCT tradition, the club time trials always happen the weekend following the eigth and final KOM. While they are competitive, and the victor has bragging rights all through the winter, they are also meant to be a fun time to get a large contingent of the team together to cheer each other on in cycling’s purest discipline.
First: A single lap of the F1 track.
Second: A single ascent of Houde.
Each event has a winner for both the Male and Female categories, and extra glory goes to the rider who can win on both the flat, and the steep.
Meet at the F1 track at 9:30am on November 4th. We’ll try to have racers going off by 9:45. After everyone has their lap done, and the times have been recorded, we commute gingerly over to the bottom of houde, where once the timers are ready, we climb furiously to the top one after another.
BEST PART: AFTER THE TIME TRIALS ARE OVER WE HAVE TEAM BRUNCH AT CORA’S ON PARC. TEAM BRUNCH IS THE BEST. WE EAT PANCAKES.
Hope to see a TON of people out for this! It’s the last big riding event of the fall!
I tried taking pictures at KOM a few years back. But it’s really hard because it’s too dark. I might show up to the TT with my camera if the weather’s good, but I’ll probably still want to race.
So basically I’m an idiot and I woke up early thinking this was today… Also, because I went to the track, the F1 hairpin is blocked off, only the mini hairpin is open; don’t know how that’ll affect our timing
