'cross season is upon us!

http://www.catamountoutdoor.com/summer_09.html

…every Wednesday night, training sessions at Catamount Centre (VT) starting
Sept 9 til Oct 14; more info to come
-the Catamount course is the same as the UCI Cross race Sept 26-27
-oooodles o’ fun in scenic Vermont!

-the FQSC has at least two races up with websites; the Louis Garneau series has about 7-9 races scheduled; more info to come

I’m up for cross practise on the mountain or anywhere central and cross-able; I’d like to figure a way to get UCI-standard barriers and mock-up a course.
Me, I’m planning to do as much cross as possible (not-getting-injured-pending) this season… Any takers? Its muddy good times!!!

Are you thinking of going down to VT every week?

yes, i’d love to!!! if you (or any eyes wandering over this) are interested, keep reading: i think maybe once every-other week would be good, but definately starting as soon as those races start.

The course is actually really good and very typically cyclocross (those who’ve done cross in Qc will note that aside from Jurgen’s races years ago in Qc City, most Qc Cross is pretty mountain-bikey)

sizeable problemos:

  1. i have no car
  2. i do in fact work

Solutions:

  1. i am thinking of getting a Communauto membership, i hear its possible even with my student-loans-killed-my-credit-rating-credit-rating
    b) anyone with a car who is as silly as me want to try to head out?
    c) may be able to borrow a friend’s car? (longshot to the extreme)

  2. i can always work early early early on Wednesdays… Or make up time… so work I don’t suspect will pose much of a problem.

Anyone who is interested in the Vermont bi-monthly Wednesday trip, message me, let’s get it organized. Meantime, I’ll call them to see what time the clinics & races start (ie to determine what time we’d have to leave and if this is just pure fantasty on my part) and we’ll go from there…

xo, crazy amanda !

and for those mountain bikers whose eyes might have accidentally wandered over this, there are also great mountain bike trails at the same place! Perhaps we might be able to combine forces…

I have a car but I haven’t yet figured out my living arrangements for when I move to Montreal (I am starting in Sept)

If I can find a place with a parking spot I will likely have the car up and I have 3 bike trays for my roof rack, so bringing 3 people wouldn’t be a problem. (might splurge and get a 4th if there is consistent interest)

Going every week might be a bit much, but bi-weekly could work out I think.

Slightly off-topic, I highly recommend communauto. It’s the people’s car, much like the volkswagon, sans the fascism.

so some cross clinics are up and publicized:

if anyone is interested, please let me know, me of the non-car ownership can’t get there without you, of the car-access-as-if-by-magic…

Clinic Deets!
