Cycling Movie Time!

After the meeting on February 9th, we will be taking advantage of the huge amount of space in Otto Maas Room 112 to watch a cycling movie. The time will be 7PM.
There is a wide-ranging selection of cycling movies we can potentially watch. From the oldest to the youngest:

  • La course en tete: Follows the life of Eddy Merckx through the eyes of his family and friends,
  • The greatest show on earth: Follows the 1974 Giro in which Merckx wins by 72 seconds
  • A Sunday in Hell: follows the 1976 Paris-Roubaix
  • Breaking Away: A 1979 movie about an American teen who wishes he was Euro
  • Hollentour (Hell on Wheels): A movie about the 2003 Tour de France, following team Telekom, with Erik Zabel
  • Overcoming: A movie about the 2004 tour with team CSC (Basso, Sastre, Jens Voigt, etc…)
  • Race across America: a movie about the 2005 Race across America
  • Road to Roubaix: a movie about the 2008 Paris Roubaix
  • Life Cycles: A movie about awesome mountain-biking

Don’t know if I’ll be able to make this, but Road to Roubaix seem pretty appealing.

I have seen Breaking Away before, and would recommend it to any aspiring euro freaks

My vote is Life Cycles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJgaSTuwp7I
Let’s put it this way - I’ve avoided seeing it until now because I thought it would be disgraceful to see it on a laptop screen.

Life Cycle is pretty awesome. If anything, it’s a little too out there with the editing, but it’s still awesome.

road to roubaix is sick!

Personally, I don’t know why this wasn’t an option…

because it’s not out on video?

why am I not surprised you would post that Dennis?

lifecycles is really incredible. I’ll be really sad that I won’t be in town for a showing of lifecycles. Who owns a copy of it???

Jon has a CD, but I’ve had it for forever :S

is it blueray or regular dvd?

I’ve only heard the best things about life cycles, but aren’t we trying to get people amped up about racing road?

another vote for life cycles!
