Based on all the things I’ve survived so far, I’d say we do!

I think it’s more of a Poisson distribution with a mean around 9 incidents. You just don’t want to fall on the short tail. Now the distribution of incidents with respect to km rolled is complicated, as handling skills and confidence both increase, with opposite effects.

OBJECTION! A Poisson distribution would necessitate random and independent collisions. In practice, cyclists are not just randomly having accidents; they would be highly correlated with handling skill, traffic in the region where you commonly ride, risk-taking of the individual, etc.
