DavidF Garage Sale -- 2008 49cm Specialized Tarmac Pro (Ultegra group, Fulcum racing wheels)

Welcome to the main event.

Take a look at https://forum.mcgillcycling.com/t/davidf-garage-sale-tools-kits-clothes-road-shoes-cleats-stems-more/5781 to get the full picture of me leaving the worldly plane of material possessions.

Why are you selling it?: I don’t ride bikes anymore because (a) it’s a pricey sport (b) it’s a bigger time commitment than jogging. In fact, I haven’t ridden this bike more than 50km in 2-3 years. I’d say that this bike would make a terrific first carbon bike, particularly if you’re interesting in moving into the racing scene.

How much?: MCT price $1200.

Specs
Frame: 2008 Specialized Tarmac Pro. Carbon.

Group: Ultegra 6600 SL, 53/39 crank, 10-speed. I replaced the derailleur in 2014 for a new Ultegra 6700 derailleur. Crank arms are 172.5mm. I’m not sure if Shimano did this for other groups, but the SL version of the 6600 Ultegra has the advantage of being (a) trivially lighter (like 200g?) and (b) being a way cooler darker gray than a lame light gray.

Wheels: Fulcrum Racing 5s. They’ve got that super pro clicking going on in the rear hub when coasting.

Seatpost: 3T Dorico Team (Italian style and design). Carbon.
Handlebars: 3T Rotundo Team. Alloy. (Classic bend all the way, none of these ergo bend trashbars near this bike).
Stem: 3T Arx Team. 110mm +/-11deg. Alloy.
Saddle: Fizik Arione VS.
Pedals: LOOK, forget what model in particular.

It’s currently got a pair of 25mm Continental Gatorskins on them.

To give you an idea about the fit of a 49cm bike, I’m 5’6 with a 29-30inch inseam. I’d say it’d fit someone as short as 5’0 and maybe as tall as 5’8 (5’10 if you want to look like Boonen smashing Roubaix). Here’s some pictures!

Don’t hesitate if there’s anything else you’d like to see/know.
