Maybe someone “official” was going to post about this (feel free to edit my post or take over), but this is the 1st race I’m planning to attend.

i just registered on BikeReg (https://www.bikereg.com/Net/15674), and I think the sooner we get organized, the better as ECCC now has a fantastic Host Housing interface.
I will have a car to drive down (spots for 3 extra people + 1 bike), BUT WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO MONTREAL ON SUNDAY.
We should post for the “official” ECCC races MCT plans to attend!
Hey, good job to you all! I hope you had fun.
Someone should volunteer to write a race report and I can update the news piece with it! Also, if you have pictures…
If you’re an exec, you should be able to update the news directly, otherwise, just give me the content and I can upload it.

Thanks,

At first I was scared of the circuit race (http://ridewithgps.com/routes/933683) but then I looked at the scale
Have you peaked at the TT?
That TT was a perfect match to what my heart rate looked like upon seeing the grade graph…
David, the Augusta circuit race is their crit, the “road race” (col du skillman circuit race) has a 2k climb each lap, maybe 4-5% average http://ridewithgps.com/routes/49865
2k in what unit? I see 300 feet
Hello! Of the 3 races what do the MCT folk recommend for someone who has no experience racing? Or does it even matter… I gots to register soon I guess!
Also if anyone knows when we’ll be heading down on the 23rd (Friday) that would be super handy. I’m assuming I’ll have to skip my 2:30-5:30 class or at least part of it.
Do all of them grace!
I went down to NJ last weekend and I started picking people up around 12:30. We got there at about 9:00pm. Luckily our race was at 11:00am the next day, but theres a chance yours might be at 7:00 which basically means getting up at 5:00.
All this to say theres a good chance you won’t make any of that class
As for registering, do them all if you feel like you will have enough energy! If you hate climbing don’t look at the profile for the circuit race or the TT. : )
Hey dudes… an email was sent out about this weekend. Let me know if you didn’t get it!
Thanks guys! I will sign up for an ambitious number of races… and avoid interpreting any hill gradient charts
Didn’t get it :(.

Like most have said… Do them all!
The TT requires no race experience
Maybe try Intro for Saturday and D Sunday.
anyone who did this race last year know (approximately) what time the men’s A actually get off? On the website it just says everything is “to follow”… is it at like noon or later in the afternoon?
Thanks
Hey Jason whats your email address? I had sent it to jason.yu@mail.mcgill.ca
Rsquared it’s impossible to know for sure. It depends on how well they’re able to coordinate each race and how much downtime there is between each field. From the past few years though, Men’s A definitely will start after 12 on both days, most likely between 1 and 2.
what are the other ECCC races MCT is planning on attending?
I’m 99% sure it’s: April 7-8: ECCC Yale (New Haven, CT), April 14-15: ECCC Army (Westpoint, NY), April 21-22: ECCC Dartmouth (Hanover, NH).
thanks jocelyn!
