Hey so this is an 8 hour relay mtb race. last year i did a similar race, diff location. and did it solo which was sweet, don’t you roadies underestimate it, very different on an mtb, lots of fun but after 8hrs demanding technical stuff. pretty awesome courses, fast, smooth, minor technical stuff. was wondering if any of you be interested, may be a few of us doing solo, or even a team of two would be pretty awesome. will likely be in mtl for may taking a course* but even if I’m not, all that follows still applies, just no ride needed.
anyways really awesome, i want to go and need a lift… plus you’ll also get to stay at chateau mitchell in the nice village of unionville, ontario :), maybe have my bro and sis as our pit crew… haha. got a pool and hot tub, for our recovery, and head back to mtl sunday sometime
if i go ill likely wanna do solo, last year just missed podium by 52s, after 8hrs… ridiculous!!! but if somebody wants to pair up (guy or girl) thatd be just as great
by the way this is not a serious race, its all about having fun no matter experience level. something different from riding straight, and battling dumb crosswinds and such!
I did the Epic 8hr at Hardwood as part of a 4 person team once upon a time. It was one of the most fun races (rides) I’ve ever done. Also road at Mansfield a few times and loved it. There’s a sweet ice cold stream on site to dunk your legs in after the race… makes them feel like a million bucks again haha.
I’m interested in doing this but not sure it’s the best idea for me given the Tremblant Canada Cup is the next weekend. I’ll have to give it some thought.
oh yeah, i here tremblant canada cup is unreal, pretty hard course. might be best to prep for that, but yeah no worries, there are a few relays during yr. yeah think I’m going home after exams so ill be trying to do mansfield anyway.
