FQSC race #2 and #3 - St. Martine

Next up on the racing calendar for McGill cycling is the double weekend of the Beauharnois criterium on Saturday the 26th of April and the classic St. Martine circuit race on Sunday the 27th. These are very typical Quebec races: a short, technical crit and a ~10km, usually windswept circuit. Both races are on the south shore, around 40 minutes drive away from McGill.

The Beauharnois crit is mostly an event for the young racers - it’s a combined field for all the seniors 1-3, masters, and juniors, all of whom race at 2:00pm. There is no senior women’s field. St. Martine however is a long running race which always has a big turnout in all the categories. The senior women leave at 12:15; the men at 2:30. You can choose to attend either one or both of these events depending on your interest. More info about these races can be found easily on the FQSC website.

MCT is paying for race registration and transportation for both of these events. However, YOU MUST preregister to take advantage of this deal. We will either bring cash to the races or pay you via e-transfer to reimburse you. Preregistration for both closes this Thursday at noon. Please don’t miss it.Dennis will be taking care of preregistering everybody. You must respond by Wednesday 9pm to the email that I am going to send out so that he has time to take care of this.

I’ll send an email out to everybody signed up above on Tuesday night. This might be the last race many of us do with McGill Cycling this year (or forever!), so you don’t want to miss it.

Senior 3’s gotta defend the Leaders Jersey!

Don’t register online yourselves.
The team will register everyone that signs up at once.

I’ve got a ride, I’ll see you guys there

I’ll come watch the Beauharnois race if there’s extra car space. Boo for no women’s field >:(

might boycot the beauharnois for not including senior women. Here’s a rallying cry for the sr3s to turn out and defend the jersey!

Just so you know keith, the beauharnois crit does not count for your leaders jersey. It’s only a part of the series for senior 1-2.

If you guys pay for gas I can drive you on Sat. I’m not wasting my legs though.

yea i’m not going to the crit if it’s a mix of all groups. i’ll crash and kill at least two kittens at the same time.

Anybody else?
