FSA Directory Sportif Fantasy Cycling!

For those of you that are fantasy cycling fans good news, this year long competition is perfect for you. This is my favourite fantasy cycling game and it really challenges you assemble a team that will be competitive in all the big races throughout the season. In order to participate make an account at http://www.podiumcafe.com/ and then head on over to the Director Sportif site http://pdcvds.com/ to make your team.

There you will be instructed to build a team, in the men’s competition you have 150pts to hire 25 riders who will accumulate points throughout the season. In the women’s competition you have 150pts to hire 15 rides. You must finalize your team by the Febraury 28th deadline and after which you can no longer change your line up. There are NO transfers in this game so just sit back and follow your selected riders throughout the season.

Once you’ve submitted your roster write your team name here so that we can add each other to our private sub leagues.

Again remember this is only for fun so everyone is encouraged to participate no matter how little you think you know. It’s a great way to be introduced to cycling and become familiar with the names of the pro peloton. If you happen to be lucky enough to pick riders who go on to have a good season you also have some pretty stellar bragging rights!

If you want a more in depth explanation of the game http://www.podiumcafe.com/2015/2/2/7963743/welcome-to-the-2015-fsa-directeur-sportif

hmmm … not too many riders above a price tag of 18 that are going to haul in their worth in points, in my opinion. Perhaps Aru, Costa, big big perhaps Betancur. If you pick valverde at 38 pts and he crashes that’s almost 1/3 of your “value” that is sidelined.

More value and less risk with guys like Malori, A yates and Konig. time triallist are good value usually (but they do crash badly sometimes, re: Dowsett and Phinney). just musing.

There are some fine deals on riders at 6 and lower, a couple who will have the opportunity to have break out seasons with increased team support!

Five Takeaways from the Tour of Qatar to make you question all your picks. For those of you on the fence about participating, it’s fun and gives you a reason to learn a bit more about pro cycling!

There is also a women’s game and this season promises to offer more media and live race coverage than ever. If you need more reasons to follow women’s cycling look no further than the exciting young crop of riders looking to make their mark in 2015! The women’s team kits are also infinitely more original than the monotonous mass of dark kits that make up the men’s peloton.

remember to submit your teams before the 28th deadline! Don’t make me play alone…please.

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad is Saturday, if you plan on making a team make sure you submit it by the end of the day tomorrow. My team name for both my Men’s and Women’s team is ‘Pedalling Vegan’. Add it to your private sub league if your playing…if anyone wants to join the fun that would be cool.

m_m and shtrob are in the race. Shtrob is my daughter’s team.

I have a good feeling about Uran this year.
