Green Mountain Stage Race 2016 - interest?

So in previous years, MCT’s had a few racers at GMSR in Vermont. It’s an extremely challenging but rewarding four day stage race from September 2nd to 5th. The first stage is a hilly/lumpy 9km ITT, followed by a circuit race (32km laps, 215m climbing per lap), followed by a “somewhat challenging” 103km 1900m road stage featuring… a lot of big climbs… followed by a technical 6-corner crit in Burlington (VT :sob:).

In previous years MCT has had the warning, “Please note that this race is extremely demanding regardless of category, and should only be attempted by riders that have been putting effort into training this summer.” This hasn’t changed. Personally I’m very much so on the fence about doing it due to doubts on my form.

Note this post is solely to gauge interest. Registration is expensive and increases if you register later- check the website ( http://www.gmsr.info/index.php ) for details.

Categories (USAC, open to any nationality): Men’s Pro/1, 2, 3, 4/5, 40+, 50+, 60+ (profs? :stuck_out_tongue: ), Women’s 1/2/3, 3/4, Junior 1-4.

If anyone interested has a car available, or even a possible place we could stay to reduce costs, contact me via PM, phone, facebook, etc.

I’ve kinda made it sound pretty unappealing so far, but from what I’ve heard it’s also pretty awesome if you’re into racing at all. I really hope to be able to do it, and it’d be an incredible way to end the season.

Not that I discourage racing, but this one has become rather insane.
Its my favorite stage race by far but you definitely need to be riding almost every day in July/Aug.
There IS a time cut, but its generous.
There will be a few groupettos in 4/5, but not in the other categories.
I’m doing 3 with Louis, unfortunately we don’t have any more room in the place we’re staying at :(.
If you’re considering doing it, do it. It’ll be a learning experience in the very least.

Can I race in the 60+ category? I’m feeling about that old right now.
