Well it was a good run everyone but unfortunately, for most of us, the outdoor season has ended and we now find ourselves rather stationary .
Well, I say turn that frown upside down because MCT Indoor spinning is back starting November! For those who are new, as a team, we host two indoor spin classes a week all winter - Wednesday’s at 7-8am & Sunday’s at 9:30-10:30am, coached by yours truly. From experience, they are a great way to stay fit and motivated in the winter.
The classes are held in the spin room in the basement of the athletics facility. Bikes are supplied so all you have to bring is a water bottle, shoes (either mountain bike SPD or running shoes), a towel, your ID (to get into the gym) and of course a can do attitude!
The first class will run on Wednesday November 3rd. It will be an easy session so everyone can get acquainted with the bikes and the setup. Note, you will need to be a paid club member and double vaccinated to enter the gym to attend the classes. If you are an alumni, on the first day of spin, you must go to the service desk at McGill athletics to complete your club registration if you experienced issues trying to do so online.
Hope to see all of you there! Do not hesitate to reach out with any specific questions.
As a P.S, if you are a club member and looking for a home trainer to use this winter, we have a limited stock of dumb trainers. Message me personally if you are interested
Are we going to follow a specific plan, and if so will it be shared in advance?
Also, can we bring our own bike & trainer / roller to the spin room for the session ?
it’s been FAR TOO LONG since the last time we spun as a team in the basement to Katy Perry’s California Girls. I am preparing my karaoke voice as i write this.
Yes. The macro spin plan is created by the folks at Toguri Training (Scott and myself). I can create a pdf of the sessions in case you want to do it OYO.
McGill doesn’t allow us to bring our own rollers for these unfortunately.
