Repair/Maintenance/Mechanic-ing/Wrenching Intro Clinic Thingy

Hello all!

I’m fully embracing my self-adopted title of Honorary Team Mechanic. In addition to offering my wrenching time to all of you at any time during the Fall or Winter semesters next year, this coming Wednesday I’ll be at The Flat in the SSMU basement to give a short intro on how your bike works and how to make that damn click/squeal/grind/squeak go away (hint: to get rid of squeaks, put mousetraps in your frame to catch those pesky squeaking mice and gerbils).

If you’d like to join us, I’ll be covering just about everything starting at 1PM in the SSMU basement, room B-02 (just knock on the door), on April 27th. Bring your bike and we can get it tuned up and ship shape for the Summer. For the most part I’ll be focusing on road bike maintenance etc, but bring whatever bike you want that needs work and we can try to tackle it. Sign up if you want your bike to go faster/quieter/smoother or just want to learn!

  • My bike is in a sorry state… :bicyclist::sob:
  • I’m at University, might as well learn something
  • I can help teach/wrench!
  • My bike is perfect, I don’t need this

This is dependent on how prepared I am for my exam on the 28th, but I hope I can make it!

i am crying  everything conflicts with froshies’ exam time

defi:
froshies
(n) freshmen. in particular, this word refers to inexperienced, bewildered college freshmen

If there’s enough interest, we can try to arrange another little session earlier in the week or earlier the same day - I’m leaving on the 28th though, so unfortunately can’t do anything later.

earlier in the day will work; exam at 2.
if nothing changes, can i come at 1 and leave when i have to but leave my bike there and come back to pick at 5?:joy:

I can definitely be there at 12 or so for those that have exams in the afternoon. Coming back to pick it up might be a problem since I think there’s a meeting in there. I’m free all day and can work on my own bike in between, so any time earlier is fine.

Will be there; thanks very much:smile:

Damn…just saw it’s at 1pm…can’t make that time. :frowning:

Feel free to suggest any other times earlier in the day or week and we can try to work something out. I’ll be there at 12 or earlier depending upon what accommodations need to be made for people, but the main session will still start at 1.

I work til 4pm each day. It’s ok, I have YouTube hehe.

Final overview/reminder:
I’ll be at the Flat at noon for those that have exams later today. I’ll do a little mini-clinic between noon and 1, and then get into the really meaty stuff at 1PM, so don’t worry about missing anything if you arrive within that window. I’ll do some quick demonstrations on my own bike, then let you guys at your own bikes and help you along. I don’t see this going too long, and we should definitely be out of there by 4PM.
See you all there!
