Running Power meter?

From my standpoint it will be a unreliable piece of junk. It uses impact G’s to determine how much force was put into the stride. Couldn’t possibly be reliable or accurate.

Thoughts mech eng’s/ physicists / Jason L ?

Interesting concept.

Ignoring the power information, I think the cadence and impact data could help with improving your running form. So the device isn’t without its merits.

As for how precise the power measurement is, and how useful for training, I’d be surprised if it told you anything you didn’t already know from heart rate and pace. Power and pace should correlate much better for running versus cycling due to the minimal effect of drag, so I would expect power to be a less useful metric in running.

This thing might really take off, though. Think about how popular fitbit has become.

Surely it will expand Zwift to include running
