The ride is more or less 120km with three moderate climbs. Pace will be pretty steady except for the climbs which will blow up. Meet at the Roddick gates or the middle of the Jacques Cartier bridge at 9:15. It’ll be a really fun ride!
Hi all
I’m visiting Montreal for 4 weeks which was long enough to warrant bringing my bike over with me from Brisbane. I’m looking forward to the ride this Saturday, should be fun and a lot safer following another wheel riding on the right-hand side of the road than doing it on your own.
Cheers
Jacek
Totally in…Gates at 9h?
Yep, gates at nine.
I wish I could do this actually…
Jacek, welcome!
Hey Jacek,
Do you happen to know a cycling friend of mine from Brisbane? His name is Dean, he works for Rio Tinto. I used to ride with him in France a couple of years ago, he was on assignment there. Big, strong guy, very good cyclist.
I actually work at Rio Tinto myself, which is why I’m in Montreal working on a project at Alcan. I thought i knew all the guys and girls at Rio that ride but not anyone called Dean. You must’ve been working in in or around Voreppe?
I suspected you were from Rio Tinto. Anyway, Dean Beltrame was his name. I was in Aix-en-Provence, he worked around there somewhere. That was in 2008-9, and his time in France would have ended in 2010. He should be back in Brisbane now.
I hope I see you on a ride sometime. Welcome to Montreal!
Hey guys,
I’m a roadie from Queen’s but living in mtl for the summer for work, looking for a good ride and this looks like the one. Is it alright if I join you? I’m coming from St. Laurent and have no clue where the meetup point is.
Thanks!
Hey Drew…go to the intersection of McGill College and Sherbrooke: the Entrance Gates (Roddick) to McGill-9h. You will see us…
Yep, we’d love to have two more wheels. Easiest meeting point is here at 9:00AM.
What an awesome ride today, thanks for the hospitality, solid pacelines and putting on the perfect weather, just like back home
Too bad I didn’t catch you guys! I was running a little late so decided to take a shortcut and then got lost… I must have arrived at the other side of Jacques Cartier at 9:25ish and waited a bit but you must have been ahead
