Cross-country ski trip: 1 day, 20-30km of skiing (classic but trails should be good for skating too).
Either P’tit train du Nord or Ski de Fond Mt. Tremblant, depending on conditions. I will call them on Friday to check. If conditions are bad everywhere I will cancel the trip, so check the forum on Friday evening, please.
I have 3 places in the car, sign up if interested.
Will, do you want to coordinate on a departure time and place in Montreal or a meeting directly in a particular ski center?
I called Tremblant and P’tit train du Nord and both centers should be open on Saturday. I actually talked with a guy at Ski de Fond Tremblant and he said they still have around 20cm of snow, which it’s not completely icy, so he promised fine conditions for classic.
I was not able to talk with anybody at P’tit train du Nord, they just have an answering machine saying they will re-open on Saturday morning. I suspect there will be few uncovered patches, especially in the classic trail, since last week there already were some spots with small rocks in the trail.
So I vote for trying Ski de Fond Tremblant http://www.skidefondmont-tremblant.com/ , but the difference is 30-40min drive. I think if we leave Montreal at 8:30am that should still be good.
