From my understanding of the FQSC site there is also the possibility to buy one-day licences on place when registering for individual races. If you think of doing only a few races throughout the year that might be a good option. I was not able to find anywhere what the cost of the one-day licence is though. Anybody has any experience/information about these one-day licences?
PS: Pete if you go for the Master’s category we should meet there…
Yes, absolutely one day licenses are a thing, except at provincial championships and perhaps a couple other of the biggest races. Almost positive they are $20, or at least they were last year. ECCC day licenses are $15 this year.
Hence my dilemma. With day licences, I would probably spend well under $100 for the entire summer (Queens, 2 more ECCC and maybe a quebec race or two), but then I am stuck racing in Men’s D for the ECCC.
Day licenses may vary depending on the race too. For instance, I only had to pay $20 for a “day” license which actually lasted the entire weekend at Charlevoix last year.
Pete, I agree the ECCC rule is dumb. I imagine there will be other people in a similar situations though, so there will probably be a handful of stronger riders racing D.
Well the eccc rule is only dumb for Canadians - an American collegiate license is only $35 I believe, so it’s not a big deal for them at all. It just really sucks for us.
