Once again, my dad asked me why I hadn’t invited McGill Cycling up for some riding at our house in Piedmont yet. So here it is: two days of cycling in the regional county municipality of the Pays-d’en-Haut in the Laurentians! If there is enough interest, I will organize a couple nice rides, one of them potentially being the Ste Agathe Provincial Circuit (for those who are thinking of racing it this could be a good opportunity to check it out the week before) and an uphill time trial up Chemin de la Montagne, Chemin Terzi and Chemin des Hauteurs.
This would be the weekend (leaving friday after work) of August 19, 20, and 21. Those interested, please show it and mention whether or not you would be able to drive up (it’s about an hour from Montreal). Our car can hold 3 bikes.
This is open to riders of any level. If there are enough people, we will have two groups.
I agree the ride over isn’t awesome, especially coming through Mirabel and St. Jerome. Maybe we can map out a different route.
We could ride over if people can get off work early on Friday, but then the Sunday would be pretty much just the ride back. I guess if we do Ste Agathe on Saturday and the uphill time trial in the morning Sunday before riding back that would work. I’m open to ideas.
@Stephen: you know the roads I mentioned for the uphill tt?
Ya. I am from the area. And used to ride up Mt Olympia as a Hill practice, but if you want unrelenting hills. You should climb up the backside of mont saint-sauveur.
