This will be an introduction ride to TPR - Team Points Ride, which will happen every Tuesday throughout the fall. This is a great team building ride and if you plan on racing with us or want to hone your skills this ride comes highly recommended by yours truly. The pace is intermediate+/advanced but for the first week we will slowly ramp up the pace every lap so everyone has a chance to get comfortable and we won’t be riding full gas like we will once TPR officially starts.
If you are interested in coming signup because I will be making teams of 3-5 the night before!
The plan is to meet at the hairpin turn at the Circuit Jacques Villeneuve at 6:45am (Here). There will also be leaving from the Roddick Gates at 6:20am. We will start with a warm up lap ~30kph. We will do six more laps after that, gradually ramping up the pace to what it will likely regularly be at during TPR. We will regroup every 2 laps but TPR is a fast ride where we don’t wait for dropped riders until we regroup after every 2nd lap. This week we will only be racing for the final sprint points which come at the end of every 2nd lap (it will be pointed out during the warmup lap). If your interested in doing TPR once it officially starts this is a great way to see if you have the fitness. Future racers are strongly encouraged to participate.
Just a few important notes:
–BE ON TIME
–the track is not busy early in the morning so there is no need to be weaving through the potentially dangerous divisions on the track
Hope to see a great turnout and meet some future McGill racers!
I cross posted the link on UdeM. Common, at least 3 more so we have big teams. It’s much more fun when there are enough of us per team to bring the breaks back.
fast, 38kph++ but you are welcome to come and try and hang on, if you are dropped you won’t be alone. I didn’t last very long the first time I went but I gradually learnt how to hang on longer.
Correction to Phil’s statement, he collected more points then most by the end of last season. Do come and try, we’ll regroup anyways every second lap. And it’s a great learning experience if you do plan on racing eventually.
