Trainer questions/help

Hello knowledgeable people, I have a tacx basic trainer (from early 2000’s ish?) and the power cable got severed. Does anyone know offhand whether there’s a safe way to wedge something in the back so that I can actually have some resistance? Right now, with no power, the resistor does not touch my back wheel at all. I’ve had very slim luck with looking this up on forums and other places on the internet. The tacx website seems to be the most unhelpful place on earth.
Thanks in advance!

The roller should always be touching your wheel. There should be an adjustment knob you can turn that will move it.
However if it’s a trainer that you have to plug in, it likely uses a magnetic resistance unit. Without power even if your tire is touching it it’ll offer little to no resistance.
