Oh yes, you read it here - the annual Vermonster is upon us! I’ll try to keep this short…
What: a weekend of team-bonding, eating great food, and sampling some of Vermont’s finest beverages… Oh, and a whole lot of riding. Mountain and road.
Where: a sprawlnig farm estate nestled in the town of Stowe, VT. The Von Trapps (Sound of Music, anyone?) likened the town to their home in the Austrian alps. Seriously, it’s nice there.
When: first weekend of October. Ideally, cars will leave Friday afternoon/evening (Oct 1) and reutrn to town on Sunday evening (Oct 3).
Who: at the moment, this trip is open to the first 16 people who sign up on this thread. There is the possibility of that number expanding, but no guarantees. Only “team” members are allowed to attend, which means that you must have paid your $90 before stepping into the cars. If you can’t sign up on the forum then send me an email (davidbgruber@gmail.com).
How much: umm, not sure yet. The trip cost will cover transportation, food, and accomodation. My best estimate at the moment is somewhere between $50-125 per person. I’ll have a set number by this coming Monday.
What else: you should come. Really. It’s gonna be awesome.
More picky details will follow in the coming days.
For those attending the trip, I need to know if you have a car, and how many people/bikes it can handle. Please email me with this info (davidbgruber@gmail.com)
Updated price estimate is $50-100 for the weekend (food, transportation, accomodation). This estimate will get more precise as I find out transportation details.
There WILL be mountain bike rides! Definitely bring your mountain bike if you’re keen.
If you notice your post missing, I’m sorry for deleting it; trying to keep this thread clean. Feel free to post any further questions.
I’m assuming we can ride either road or mountain not both. Have any rides been planned out? I rode Smuggler’s Notch last year and it was brutal but awesome!
Hey Adrien,
What you could do if you want to do both is renting a (mountain) bike for a day and doing road (mountain) the other, like some of us did last year.
I am currently looking for mountain bike rentals in Stowe because i personally don’t have a mtb, so if anyone else is in the same situation I’ll share what I find.
I don’t know how far you guys are going to be traveling, or what type of mtb there is in stowe, but in east barre (c 40 min away) there is a place called millstone:
Okay, anyone going to Vermont, must send me a confirmation email by tomorrow at midnight or else no go. If you have a car that you are planning on driving, please tell me how many people you can take in said car. Fees will be calculated and posted by Monday. An email will go out to attendees on that day.
i think whatever the majority wants to do (which will likely be riding rather then racing anyways). Bring your MTBs if you have one! Or rent while you’re there! Vermont is quite possible the best place to mountain bike EVER.
