Dear McGill Cycling,
Welcome to the part of the year where you can build yourself up for a whole new season! This is an easy time to neglect your fitness, but it is even easier to put in a little bit of time over the next four months so that you have a leg-up in the Spring ECCC Races and the summer racing season.
As we’ve done in the past, we will run three different types of workouts:
[] Intervals Spinning: Designed to push your limits. Workouts are between 60-90 minutes, including warm-up and cool-down. These occur twice a week.
[] Base Miles Spinning: Also known as “Saturday Spins”; for developing your aerobic engine. Sessions are held once a week, and are a chance to catch up with everybody for a few hours as you pedal along at a steady, moderate intensity. We have the spin room for three hours, so do come along!

Plyometrics: Developing that explosive kick! Link to first session.
The time slots for this year are slightly different from past years. All winter training (including plyometrics workouts) takes place in the Spin Room of the McGill Athletics Center (entrance on 475 avenue des Pins Ouest). The times listed below are the total times for which McGill Cycling has the spin room. Just because we have the spin room until 8:30am doesn’t necessarily mean we will go for that long (because people have classes to get to). That said, you are welcome to stay for the maximum duration. You’re also welcome to leave at anytime if you have an overlapping obligation.

And then we kick off March with a training camp in South Carolina during Reading Week.
Of course, you won’t need to come back to this thread to check when we will be working out - we will be posting these workouts on an individual basis as they come along with the workout plan (if applicable). The purpose of this posting is to let you all know when we will be training so you can adjust your schedule accordingly.
Let’s do it up!
