ATTENTION Women of McGill Cycling! On Wednesday the 12th there will be a women’s ride at 6:30am at the base of Camillien Houde for some pro tours! Please let us know who is intrested in coming to this ride ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME! Hope to see you there!
I would love to join this ride but I will unfortunately not be able to make it this week. I have family visiting (and staying at my tiny place) and since I am also working and studying, my days have been completely disrupted (not eating well, not sleeping enough, not doing any exercise, feeling exhausted and stressed…).
I should be able to go back to my routine and to my normal “self” by next week.
How far is this ride/ what is the approximate route? I’m a new student and would like to join, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to ride then shower etc in time for classes starting at 8.30am.
@DDogar: the meeting place is at the beginning of Voie Camillien Houde right after it spilts off from Mont Royal Blvd, close to Parc Ave/Mont-Royal Ave: https://goo.gl/maps/KEM7Ewnu3eu
@beckyb: We will do pro tours which is the route that the pro peleton takes during the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montreal. It looks like this (this route shows the finish at the coffee shop le club espresso bar): https://www.strava.com/routes/14133160
We usually do 2 laps in the morning and should finsih the ride around 7:30-7:45AM. However, you can leave after one lap which should be around 7AM.
There may be quite a few riders meeting at the same location tomorrow morning because le club espresso bar is hosting a ride just like this one with the same meeting spot. Just ask for either Ayanna or Felix (me) and we’ll fill you in with any details you need.
Also, @DDogar and @beckyb, in addition to the le club ride on Wednesdays, @AyaBadali will be hosting McGill Cycling female-only rides from next week onwards (not tomorrow though). The Le Club rides and the McGill Cycling rides are not to be confused.
@DDogar, if you have a hybrid bike (which I think you mentioned today), the Le Club ride tomorrow might be a tad bit difficult as it involves quite a few hills; just a heads up. I think @AyaBadali talked to you this evening, and said she will be going with you on next Wednesday’s ride. I would recommend that.
