Charlevoix

I heard there are some hills there
Can anyone tell me how hilly it is?

You’ve heard wrong. There aren’t any hills. There are walls. Looks like google’s street view car didn’t make it that far yet, but it’s got 18%climbs and a few long 10%ish climbs. Great race

The most notable climbs are

  1. Les Eboulements (infamous because a bus crashed on the descent some years back)
  2. Ste-Irenee les bains (steepest)
  3. La Malbaie (you haven’t recovered yet)

And the rest is rolling. I’ll see what pictures I have from our touring trip when I get home.

I really want to go to this and get my ass kicked.

Ok
Does anyone know where I can buy a Gruber assist?

Just grab on to Will’s seatpost. It’ll help us all

4 guys of UdM about to rent a place over there…do you guys have something/want to join us if there s room for all of us ?

Jo, on s’en reparlera aujourd’hui a la course

Brandon do you want to go?

UdeM, how much room do you have and what would it cost?

Anyone else want to go? I do but wouldn’t be able to leave until around 5:30 Friday night. I am personally down with camping or a rented place.

I would like to go.

i’m super interested in going.

If no Brandon, 3 MCTers in a minivan?

The team (being me with the access to the account) would like to support a rented minivan going to this race. The more exposure the better.

Propose a budget to me by PM and I will do my best to make it work, your reimbursement may take several weeks though so plan carefully.

Edit

Sounds good.

Ruth, Drew, I am happy to organize, let me know if you want to be involved w. the planning.

Anyone else?

hello mcgill ! we just rented a place in charlevoix, some 7km out of main event, nice place apparently, for now we are 3 or 4 and could accept as much as 1-2-3 more depending on how much inflatable mats we have…not to picky for how much people there is…the more the cheaper anyway.

cost total: 250
beds: 2 double one simple, seems to be plenty of room for mats

please contact me by mail if interested. Maybe one place in van, but not sure for that

A rough budget.

Mini Van: including insurance and other fees… $70/day?
Gas: $100
Accommodation: Here are the prices quoted by the UdM team.
$125 x2 night /nbr of people
if 5= 50
if 4= 62.50

I am perfectly happy camping out. Jon, would there be space on the lawn of the cottage you have rented for a couple tents? Or we join the UdM team.

Course: $75/ person

John, can you get off work earlier than 5:30 and are you willing to drive?

Alrighty, I will get back to all of you at noon tomorrow with my proposal. I hope its enough to be able to send a full minivan.

Preregistration ends wed 10pm.

Yes I can and yes I would.

There probably will be a big lawn around where we are. Apparently the place might be kind of packed and partying a bit, I’ll see what the deal is there. There’s also a really inexpensive dorms at the Auberge du Balcon Vert and camping, although it’s relatively minimal comfort wise. That’s where we stayed last time, and it’s close to the race course if I remember right.

if u want, pitching a tent is also something possible, let me know what u guys doing

Here’s my breakdown

Rental:180(from friday through monday morning)
Gas: 120 (roughly 1000km)
sleeping:200(motel/cheap hotel)

$500/4.
