Spring Training 2011

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to see how many people would be interested in heading south for spring training during reading week. Our team went down to South Carolina during reading week last year for training and it really helped prepare for ECCC and the road season to get some nice long rides in (off the trainer!)

Plan is: renting a cottage in some place warm-ish, (South Carolina) driving down there over reading week and doing some long rides every day. Reading week will be Feb 20-26, 2 weeks before Rutgers so it could be a great opportunity to get some good miles in, get used to the real road again and that sort of thing.

Given the prices from last year, but the different transportation arrangements available to us this year, the price will be under $400/person (last year it was about $300/person) including transportation, accommodation and food.

Please sign up if you might be interested. There is no need to commit to it right now, but I want to see if people would actually be interested in this kind of a trip so I can start looking into places that will accommodate a group our size.

Something that I was not clear about last year, but would like to be more explicit this year: Each day’s ride will be 80km or longer, there can be opportunity to do “bonus” if you want to, but the group will stay together for 80km. Average speed will be around 30kph. Both of these criteria will be NO PROBLEM if you are regularly attending Adam’s spin classes or doing equivalent volume and intensity of workout throughout the winter. The point being, I want everyone at the camp to have a good time, and making everyone wait around isn’t too fun.

If there is a large enough group that wants to go a different pace or distance, that is fine but I can’t be responsible for you.

Thanks
Brandon

Hey, I had a really good time this spring, and I might be interested again this year, especially if it was at the same place. I also might have the same car to offer to the trip if you guys are interested in that…

This sounds pretty sweet, I’m totally up for it come reading week.

obviously coming. to those wondering how nice the riding is and how crucial it is to getting out, i’m skipping out on trips out west skiing and a trip to Europe to do this.

COUld Come… if I get back in shape by spring…

you’ll be fine stephen

Definitely there this time.

If I can wiggle my way outta work for that week I’d love this

Mrs. Watson says I’m allowed!

can i get the info? jennifer.kern@mail.mcgill.ca

Sent the info…

Most recent cost estimates have the camp costing under $350, if that changes anyone’s mind…

Fine…

Ok Ok OK

I’m committed to making this happen
The MCT Exec is behind me, so it’s go time!

I have sent out an important e-mail about moving forward on this trip to anyone who has signed on this list, if you haven’t got the e-mail, please send me your e-mail address and I will send you a copy

Thanks

Hey All

It’s time to start firming up on the details and committment to the camp.

At the moment we have a severe shortage of transportation, if there is a way anyone can get a car from their family or what have you, I need to know asap. If noone is able to step up, Regretfully, I will have no choice but to limit the number of people that can come on the trip.

Please send me a private message if you may be able to help provide transportation

Thanks
Brandon

No one has said this yet, but Jocelyn should get -10000000000000000 points for his “Shaving your legs is a bad thing” comment. And -3 for his bad attitude.

You know a frenchman must always have a hairy attitude…
I will shave my legs the day Lance Armstrong publicly admits to doping.

And I will shave my legs the day I win a senior 1-2 road race.

P.S. Jocelyn, that is the funniest thing I have heard all day.
